French composer, conductor and teacher, Jules Semler-Collery (1902-1988) studied at the Paris Conservatoire where he won many prizes. He became well-known as a composer and his works remain popular to this day, including his Barcarolle and Bacchanalian Songs for Tuba, Double Bass, Bass Saxhorn or Brass Trombone and Piano.
