Carmen Fantasy on themes from the opera by Georges Bizet – for Clarinet (Violin, Soprano Saxophone) and Piano

Virtuosity has a name: Alexander Rosenblatt. The composer and pianist, born in Moscow in 1956, masterfully masters the respective instrument and draws all technical and musical registers. He also takes elements from the jazz up and spices his music with a pinch of humor. In the case of the “Carmen Fantasy”, for example, in which he treats famous themes from Bizet’s opera into an extremely effective concert piece. The fantasy can be played either with a clarinet or a violin and a piano, and is a competition in the “International Tchaikovsky Competition” in Moscow and St. Petersburg in June 2011.
